Taskbar The taskbar is the strip at the bottom of your screen. You can create shortcuts here to a lot of files for quick access. It is a slightly different procedure for Windows 98 to Windows XP

First you need to make a folder to keep the links in. It is easiest to make it in My Documents and call it Frequent

Windows 98
  • Find a File or Folder you want to make a shortcut to and right click on it
  • Click Create Shortcut Here
  • Drag the new shortcut to your Frequent Folder
  • Repeat above for each file or folder you want to add
  • Drag the Frequent folder to the taskbar and let go
Windows XP
  • Make up your Frequent folder as above, adding shortcuts to files and or folders
  • Right click a blank space on your taskbar and select Toobars
  • Click on New Toolbar and navigate to the Frequent folder
Here's what my taskbar looks like after clicking the >> next to the Frequent folder. You can see I also have Toolbars for the Goats and one for Games.
